In general, my artist aim is to create common projects with society, to move away from the creator-artist, genius-artist, author-artist towards an artist as a social initiator, as a companion and participant. My friends go on walks with me to look for sockets. Try it yourself, it’s fun and a good form of exercise and entertainment! I welcome everyone to work on this project with me!

    Der Künstler Andrey Ustinov zog von Russland nach Deutschland um, wo er zunächst als Künstler lebt und arbeitet. Er erzählte der Journalistin des russischen Kunstmagazins “Artguide” Anna Matwejewa, was das Kunststudium in Deutschland bedeutet, wie und wovon die europäischer Künstler leben, warum der Begriff “Emigration” nicht mehr gilt, und “das Geld” ein interessantes Thema für Künstler ist.

    The conceptual artist Andrey Ustinov will talk about cultural overproduction and functionality of the art, as well as who owns the public art, and how the art in public spaces is related to vandalism. We will also discuss the problem of appreciation of art in contemporary society and try to understand whether the recycling of art objects to be defined as vandalism or as a “Second Life of Things”.

    “…Insgesamt also durchaus überzeugende und spannende Arbeiten, die die Skulptur aus ihrer repräsentativen Statik befreien, und dabei stets den vorgefundenen und neu entstehenden Kontext betonen. Ein zufallsdeterminiertes Konzept der “Kunst der Zerstörung” ebenfalls integrieren, damit in einen Dialog mit der Öffentlichkeit einsteigen. Diese Position beinhaltet aber auch die Frage nach Besitz – nach Verteilung öffentlicher Ressourcen, denn das “Labyrinth für Dummies” markiert einen öffentlichen Raum, und entreisst ihn gleichzeitig der Öffentlichkeit, indem es einen scheinbar privaten Raum ausweist, besetzt, in Besitz nimmt…”
